Nuts for nutella? make your own chocolate hazelnut spread with just a few everyday ingredients
Ingredients:
2 cups skinned hazelnuts
1 cup icing sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2 tbsp hazelnut oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Method:
1. toast the hazelnuts in a dry pan over medium heat. keep them moving to precent burning. toast the nuts until they are golden and fragrant
2. place the hazelnuts in a food processor or blender. pulse until sandy. then process until the oils are released and it forms a paste. at this stage the mixture should look like peanut butter. blend until the smoothness you desire.
3. add the remaining ingredients and blend until the mixture becomes slightly looser and glossy. if necessary add more oil 1 tsp at a time.
4. transfer the spread into a jar, seal and store in a cool, fark place for up to a month.
